About Czech Switzerland

Bohemian Switzerland is a region which lies on the Czech side of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains on both sides of the Elbe River. Its highest point is at 726m above sea level. The name of this region is said to be given by the Swiss artists Adrian Zingg and Anton Graff, who were by this picturesque area reminded of their homeland.

What to See in Czech Switzerland

The whole area has some fantastic views and is great for hiking, cycling and other recreational activities, but the most popular tourist spot is the rock gate Pravčická Brána.

Train: 1hour 20minutes, One way 163Kč
From the station “Praha Holešovice” direction Dresden or Berlin.
or
get off at Ústí nad Labem hlavní nádraží and take local line to
Děčín hlavní nádraží.

Bus (from Děčín hlavní nádraží): 29minutes, One way 25Kč
From the bus stop “Děčín autobus nádraží ” in front of station Děčín hlavní nádraží.
Take bus direction Mezní Louka and get off at Hřensko Pravčická Brána.

Public Transport Information

Car: 1hour 50minutes, approx.130km

Take route D8/E55 toward Teplice and then head to Ústí nad Labem
after passing through Lovosice.
Take route 62 to Hřensko/Dresden.

    How long is it walking to the Pravcicka Brana from the busstop Hrensko Pravcicka Brana?

    It’s about 2 km from bus stop Hrensko Pravcicka Brana to Pravcicka Brana.
    Personally it took me 45mins, the hiking trail was quite tough.
    Hope it is useful.
